Water can only be safe for drinking if they disinfect each gallon by using approximately 16 drops of bleach and hence, they should do so. Foods that can last for long periods such as canned meat, vegetables, and dried fruit as well as freeze dried and ready-to-eat dehydrated meals, protein and energy bars and granola are ideal for emergencies and for this reason, it is advisable for people to select them and store plenty of them when preparing for a disaster.
